Abu Dhabi cracks down on illegal printer ink cartridges
Police in Abu Dhabi have seized 2,500 illegal laser ink cartridges and have arrested the cartridge counterfeiters responsible for this operation.
A representative from the police’s Anti-organised Crime Department said it was clear that illegal production of laser ink cartridges was in operation and that it’s likely they were copying European versions of printer ink cartridges.
The two men who were arrested have confessed to the counterfeiting charge.
The police representative continued to say that illegal trading of fake printer ink cartridges has become “an international nuisance affecting many firms”. Because the product quality is very bad, consumers of the ink cartridges are the ones who consequently suffer the most.
It has been reported that counterfeit printer ink cartridges are costing manufacturers around £4 billion per year.
Customers are advised to only buy printer ink cartridges from recognized companies, such as ThePrinterInkSupermarket.com.
