It sounds rather simplistic, doesn’t it? Yet there are a few tips I can share with you that can help you to use less ink and make your printer cartridge last longer. “What are they?!”, I hear you say. Well, read on…
Perhaps one of the most simplest and logical methods is to carefully read through a document before you send to print, so that you can spot and correct all the mistakes. This prevents you from having to re-print any pages. Taking it a step further, you could read through the whole file and assess if it’s necessary to print off the whole document- you could find that you may only need to print off a few paragraphs. Also, assess whether printing the images are necessary, you may choose to only print off the text.
Another way of using less printer ink is to adjust the printer settings and changing the print quality from “best” to a lower quality setting. This is especially relevant for documents that are not sent out to clients or suppliers.
Finally, the typeface you choose to print your documents with can help you save ink. In particular, thin and clear fonts such as Century Gothic and Calibri will help you save money.
