Laser versus InkJet printers?

Back to articles

Inkjet printers are usually the preferred choice among users, as they are usually cheaper to purchase, but, laser printers are faster, more efficient and last for longer.

The inkjet cartridge printers work at a slower pace than laser, but are typically very reliable. However, the laser printers are better for printing larger documents in a hurry, but there are a few things you should take into consideration:

1. The only catch with a laser printer is that it needs to warm up first, which can take a few minutes, but if you only need a few sheets, an inkjet may provide you with a single sheet faster.

2. The colours on a laser printer are often not as defined as with an inkjet printer. You may be able to get better depth and range with the inkjet cartridges over the limited amount that a laser printer can target.

3. The choice therefore is a basic one; decide on the printer that is right for the specific tasks/requirements and this can save both time and money.
