Black cartridges are generally cheaper to purchase than colour ink cartridges. When purchasing ink cartridges, it’s wise to ask yourself whether or not your printouts could be printed out in black and white instead of in colour. In the long term, this could save your business a lot of money.
Alternatively, you could purchase recycled (remanufactured) ink cartridges, if you’re looking to save costs. They also have less impact on the environment too.
An important point to bear in mind when purchasing ink cartridges is to check that the ink cartridge is actually compatible with your printer. Some ink cartridges are specially designed for specific printer models, which should be prominently displayed on the ink cartridge packaging. It may be a good idea to write down your printer model before going to the ink cartridge shop to purchase cartridges.
Certain ink cartridges are priced well over £20, but sometimes, you may find that a new printer with ink cartridges included cost only a couple of pounds more! I.e. you could get a brand new printer for next to nothing, so you may as well go for that option and possibly resell your old printer on an auction site. This is by far the option that offers the best value for money.
Finally, remember to retain your purchase receipt from your retailer as this will validate the manufacturers warranty on your ink cartridge. For the odd occasion where your ink cartridge may be faulty, you are entitled to a replacement or a refund; but you can only do this if you show proof of purchase.
